I am very comfortable with giving Francis a task, big or small, and letting him tackle it independently...His independence has allowed me to continue working on diverse projects, while knowing the team is producing more and more results. This summer as our team approached major deadlines that seemed nearly impossible, Francis powered through tasks allowing us to achieve the deadlines..."
“I served as a Linkages mentor for Francis during his first year at St Thomas where he showed great curiosity about our university and initiative when making applications and developing resumes, cover letters, etc. As an acquaintance into his second year, he demonstrated increased involvement on campus, seeing him at club events more frequently and endeavored into various projects and improved in his writing as I continued to provide writing assistance.”
"Francis is a very careful and thoughtful student and writer. He was in my Intensive Writing class during the Fall of 2020 where he demonstrated a fantastic work ethic and deep engagement with the concepts and processes that we practiced in class. In the end, his writing showed great improvement due to his attention to detail and hard work. This effort was even more impressive given that he and his peers had to start their first semester of college in the midst of a global pandemic."
“During Francis' time as a Salesforce CRM Intern at the University of St. Thomas I had the pleasure of interacting with him in my role as Senior Software Engineer. Francis had been tasked with building some interactive widgets for our Admissions Application portal. He dove into this task with enthusiasm and impressed the client, the Admissions department, with his innovation and creativity meeting their desired messaging and design. This task involved building front end Web interactions utilizing coding in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Francis was self-motivated to tackle these coding challenges, but also willing to seek guidance when he needed it. We met regularly to review his code and I was impressed with his ability to take constructive instruction but also at what he accomplished all on his own. Francis learns quickly, has an incredibly positive personality, is responsive to instruction, and collaborates well in a team. I have no doubt that Francis is up to any challenge set before him and will excel at any given task. He has my recommendation for any position he pursues.”
“Francis worked with me in my capacity as a Software Engineer II during his internship on our Salesforce CRM team. His work has been of good solid quality, and I've enjoyed working with him to guide him toward the solutions on tricky HTML/CSS/JS challenges. What I've been struck by most is Francis's powerful work ethic and his determination to succeed at whatever task is set before him. Would that I had been so determined when I was a college student! Perhaps most importantly, Francis is a great pleasure to work with. He brings great gobs of positive energy and friendliness to every meeting he's in. His desire to learn and grow as a software engineer are infectious, and I have little doubt he will go on to achieve many successes in his forthcoming career. I recommend him to all and sundry: he'll be a great addition to your team.”
“Francis has been a delight to work with. I have asked him to create numerous widgets for our admissions student portal, and each one he has created has been visually appealing and informative. He asks good questions but also quickly picks up on directions. When I have not already sent a request, he is very good at reaching out to see if there is anything I would like him to work on. Lastly, it is clear that Francis is eager to expand his knowledge of graphic design. When he does not have a task assigned, he busies himself with other (usually more challenging) projects so that he can improve. He has truly been the perfect intern and will be very successful in his next role.”
